A.I. Tech has been awarded the Italian Project Awards (IPA) for the best Smart City project, thanks to AI-BEHAVIOUR, the Video Understanding platform that brings multimodal AI to urban video surveillance.
What makes it truly innovative? You no longer need to tell the system in advance what to look for. Thanks to Vision Language Models, operators can describe in natural language what they want to detect, and AI-BEHAVIOUR interprets images and context to identify unusual behaviours and situations.
Fights, vandalism, intrusions, abandoned or thrown objects: new behaviours can be searched for without having to develop a new model or rule every time.
It is a paradigm shift: from video analytics based on what a system has been trained to recognise, to technology capable of adapting to what we need to understand.
An important achievement for A.I. Tech, a spin-off of the University of Salerno, and for a technology born from academic research and already transformed into a concrete solution for Smart Cities, public authorities and industries.
